Meet Our Child Support Attorneys: Wendy M. Rosen, Esq.
Wendy is a partner at Ulrichsen Rosen & Freed LLC.
With respect to child support, New Jersey’s Child Support Guidelines calculate child support obligations by taking into account factors such as the income of both parties, the number of children in a family and the ages of children. If the parent’s combined net income falls within the guidelines, Wendy can provide an estimate of the amount of child support a client may anticipate paying or receiving based on the guidelines. However, the guidelines may not apply to high-income families.
The New Jersey Child Support Guidelines apply only to a certain income threshold. For parties with a combined income above that threshold, child support becomes discretionary, giving courts the ability to consider factors such as the children’s needs and the parties’ ability to pay.
If clients have a combined net income above the guidelines’ threshold Wendy will work to develop a strategy for setting a child support obligation that is fair and in the best interest of the children.
